Sunday, July 12th – Driving & a Little Visiting

I’m playing catch up here so I’ll stick to pics and few words. I’m sure you’ll appreciate that. We camped in Cabela’s in East Hartford on the night of the 11th. The spot was pretty nice. There was one other camper parked there – from Maine! No matter where you go, there you are!

We dumped our tanks in the AM and headed south to Maryland to pay a short goodbye-for-now visit to Seth, Krista, Sophia, and Annabelle in Silver Spring. As I said, lots of driving, a little visiting.

We didn’t get any pics at Seth’s. I ran over the curb getting into his driveway. They were surprised the camper was so large but it fit in their driveway! We had a nice visit. Their new house is beautiful! The girls gave us a spirited tour and the cats were slightly amused. The dog, not so much!

We took off kind of early so we could get closer to Virginia. Pam found a Flying J a couple of hours away and we just joined the Good Sam club with our last Camper’s World purchase, so we may be able to save some money on SOMETHING!

We found the Flying J and the camper spots were full so we poked around a bit and found a brand new Shell station close by with a couple of nice parking spots out of the way but well lit and nicely landscaped (I don’t really care how my free campsites are landscaped, I just happened to notice how new and swanky this place was!) I went in and asked if it was okay to spend the night. The clerk came out and took a look at where we were parked and said, “Sure”. We got comfortable and turned in for the night.
