PMAC Youth Jazz is a youth jazz combo that focuses on jazz repertoire, improvisation and composition. We play a LOT and have a great time. Join us! Matt Langley chooses repertoire from the entire history of Jazz. A Sidney Bechet tune may be performed with a Chris Speed tune. Or a Herbie Hancock tune may performed with a New Orleans street band second line march. The emphasis of this band is a cohesive group sound, supportive improvisational structures that feature each soloist but involve all members of the ensemble in listening, supporting and propelling soloists to high levels of communication through musical interaction.
