spring in the air

Langley - Kohlhase - Gray Perfrom Luther Gray's Yep. It’s true…there will be spring. I took my first outdoor road ride yesterday after work and it was GREAT! Sunny, warm, even down by the beach! Maybe next week I’ll start riding to work…we’ll see. Hope so. I could stand to shed a portion of my winter coat.

In the photo Charlie Kohlhase, Luther Gray (on drums and kinda visible in the mirror to the left) and I perform Luther’s “Happy Apple” at the Lotus Moon Dance studio in Rollinsford, NH. This was a fun night and Tim Webb and Thom Keith, who opened up for us, sounded great. Thanks to Thom for the photos and to Thom and Tim for working on an alternate performance space in this area for creative music.

This friday night (March 30th) come on out to the Lotus Moon studio in Rollinsford for a night of music with the Tim O’Dell/ Matt Langley Quartet. The show will start at 8PM with Mike Effenberger’s trio. Mike is a fantastic pianist and I’m anxious to hear him with his trio. I’m getting a little ahead of myself though. Sunday (3/25) I’ll be up in Portland with Tim Webb and Rob Duquette at Gritty McDuff’s  for some great music and great beer. C’Mon by and say hello. Monday (3/26) I’ll be at the Press Room in Portsmouth with David Tonkin, Don Williams and Tim Gilmore. A couple of my students are going to sit in in the first set.  Should be fun! Sunday april 1st I’ll be back at the Press Room with Chris Humphrey and the Jim Howe Trio. I did this with Chris once before and we had a blast. Should be a great time this time too!

More stuff coming up too…I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for checking and and I hope to see you soon.
