Some mid-winter stuff for you

Shaker Moon Set
Moon set over the golf course at Shaker Road School

Greetings! Thanks for stopping by. Pam and I are getting PUMPED to visit NOLA for the Jazz Festival in April. I have NEVER been to the Big Easy and we’re totally looking forward to visiting all the clubs I hear about on WWOZ all the time. No vacation with the kids this spring but we’re hoping to be able to bring them back east this summer for a family hang in the middle of the summmmaaahhhh! Lobsters, steamers, sand in your swimsuit, sunburns, lake swimming and such. If you know what I mean!?
So, music you say? What’s going on in the Langley Sound Playground? Well, there’s are a few extra special gigs coming up which I will hip you to below. Schools are cranking on ALL fronts. This is the push to spring and today it feels just like spring around southern Maine – 60 degrees and raining, not a flake of snow on the ground ‘cept where the plow piled it all up. CCMS just had the Winter Jazz Recital and the kids kicked it, along with a few adults. PMAC is back in session and my adult ensembles are dusting off the winter cobwebs, getting in gear for a semester of slammin’ sounds. The kids aren’t back until early February but we’ll be ready for ’em! Rumor has it Marco Benevento is coming back to mess with their minds. PMAC has the faculty jazz show coming up at the music hall loft (see below) and we’re honing the set list to a finely tuned show that’ll please every listener. AND….In Ears & Eyes is COMING UP TOO! Pammie’s birthday will be extra special this year when we crank up the IENE ’13 extravaganza featuring the whole crew with a couple WICKED additions; Taylor O’Donnell for one! So, here’s a short list of gigs coming up. Thanks for supporting live music, dance, art and theater with your vibrant presence.
