Happy Holiday Music to all…

Matt Langley & the fam kick up some shells
jumpin’ on sanibel

Dang. It’s been too long since I shared any thoughts here. What better time than the holiday season to thank you all for stopping by. I’m very blessed to work with tons of wonderful, artistic, caring people on a regular basis and I want each and every one of you to know how much you are appreciated.  My beautiful wife Pam makes it possible for me to drive all over kingdom come, start and end many days in the wee small hours and always come back to some lovin’! THANK YOU ZOOLIE-Q!
My son Taylor just went back to Tahoe after a great month of hanging and talking and cycling and hugs and stupid jokes and video shoots and PMAC concerts and Marco shows and museum visits and hugs and leaf blowing and firewood collecting and leaf blowing and hiking and driving and keg finishing and hugs and….miss you man! BUT, Miss Erin Mae Langley will be visiting the Langley estate for a brief period after Christmas and on into the New Year and we are GIDDY with anticipation.
Searching for Holiday Music? There’s plenty of that ’round here. Here are some upcoming shows you might like to check out:
Friday, December 14, 7PM – Donkilo! – Biederman’s Pub, Plymouth, NH – Dave Kobrenski’s Donkilo! has taken on quite an exciting sound as of late with the regular appearances of Randy Roos in the band. Dave writes some great Afro Funk influenced holiday music, leads the band with the Fula flute, kamalen’goni, djembe and talking drum and encourages the band to visit other worlds during extended jams. Recent gigs have bordered on the primal!
Saturday, December 15, 9PM – Donkilo!Red Square – Burlington, VT – What I just wrote goes double when there’s a two nighter. Should be a great hang and Burlington is a GREAT City. Make a day of it!
Saturday, December 15, 1PM & 3PM – PMAC Youth Jazz & Rock Program Concert – The Press Room, Portsmouth, NH – If you can get in to this show, you should. There’s nothing quite like seeing an 11 year old rock some Pink Floyd or some Charlie Hunter. This fills up QUICK so get in line EARLY. Students of Nick Phaneuf, Mike Effenberger and Myself will throw down on the world famous Press Room Stage.
Saturday, December 22, 7PM – Chris Humphrey Big Band – The Church on the Cape – Cape Porpoise, ME – Rockin with the CH Big Band to benefit the Community Fuel Assistance Program. Some of the finest musicians in the great state o’ Maine come together to fill the church with Holiday music and spirit and to raise some dough for those in need. JOIN US and SPREAD THE WARMTH!
Sunday, December 23, 4PM – JOSA with Richie Cole – Eastman, Grantham, NH – Wahoo! Richie Cole is a legendary alto player and jazz personality. I got to play with him at JOSA once before and had a blast. This should be no different! Hopefully he’ll bring some of his holiday music arrangements!
Monday, December 24th, 11PM – Christmas Eve Service – 2nd Christian Congregational Church, Kittery, ME – Come celebrate Christmas with Pastor Brad Hirst, music director Mike Effenberger and other guests.
