back to it

Saxophonist & Uberdude Matt LangleySummer is ovahhh. It’s time to get back in the fall, winter, spring work, work, work vibe. I’m looking forward to school and all my students coming back! They’re a challenging crop and I’ve got some ideas I’m ready to spring on ’em. Should be loads of fun for all. I’ve got some nice ensembles at CCMS & PMAC as well and I’ll keep you posted on upcoming performances, etc.

This month in the giggage department, there’s a lot of private stuff going down with the Hip Pocket Orchestra and Tom Snow’s band. The Hip Pocket is heading down to Orlando for a couple days at the end of the month. Should be a fun trip and a good hang as well!

September 10th, c’mon over to the Barley House in Concord for the monthly David Tonkin hang with Donnie Williams, David Tonkin, Tim Gilmore and Myself. Always a good time with some great food, good beer and some great music. Show starts at 8PM.

I’ve got a couple trio gigs with pianistRob Dumais at the Hilton in Manchester NH on Friday, September 14th and Sunday, September 23rd. Friday, September 21st I’m back up at the The Dogfish Bar and Grill in Portland with drummer Jan Van Voorst and possibly Curtis Clark. Sunday the 16th Ben Baldwin and I will be the horn section for Carrie Coltrane’s Bonnie Raitt show at The Stone Church in Newmarket, NH. Always a fun time with Kent Allyn, Wood Allen, Gary Gimitti and Peter Black as well.

Monday, September 24th COLOR will make an all too rare appearance at the Press Room in Portsmouth. C’mon out and make some noise with us while chuggin a boddintons. We’d love to see you and the Press Room always deserves your support. And thursday, september 27th, after flying back from Orlando…had to get that in there, where else can I pretend to be a bigshot if not on my own website!!…I’ll beat feet over to Nonni’s in Hillsboro to sub for Jim Cameron in the Tall Granite Jazz Band. Hope I can chisel out some decent solos for those boys…OK, that sucked, but I had to try. Come visit me at any one of these gigs, tell me you heard about it on my website, and I’ll be amazed…I might even buy you a beer…or two. Thanks for putting up with this and keep supporting live entertainment in any way shape or form!!
