Things have been crazy and I’ve fallen waaay behind in my updates. The calendar is always current but I like to give you a heads up on upcoming stuff here too. Here’s the lowdown on some stuff this month.
TOMORROW NIGHT – Monday October 6th – The FTET
– With Mike Effenberger, Chris Klaxton, Myself, Jim Rudolph and Don Williams. We’ll do stuff from Nirvana, Radiohead, Jefferson Starship and MORE! Blow offf the 4 millionth bull#$%^ political ad on the boobtube and c’mon down to the Press Room for a reality show too real to ever make prime time!
Friday, October 10th – Bryan Killough, John Hunter and Myself at the Portsmouth Gaslight – More great music in downtown Portsmouth on a Friday night. Come on in and say hello. If, by some stretch of the imagination, you haven’t heard Bryan Killough, NOW IS THE TIME!
Saturday, October 11th – Charlie Kohlhase Explorer’s Club at Longy School of Music. Charlie’s annual faculty concert at Longy. This is a great place to hear the band. Excellent acoustics and plenty of room. Parking…..that’s another thing! Still worth the trip from anywhere!
Sunday, October 12th – The FTET at the Barley Pub in Dover. TWO GIGS IN ONE WEEK with the same band…WHATTT? Shutttup! This should be a fun one. There is no other place that I know of where you can shoot pool right in front of the bandstand. Does that make it special? Sure. Do TONS of different beers make it special? Indubitably. Will the band sound great after just playing earlier in the week at the Press Room? HELLLYYEAHHH!
Monday, October 13th – OOOH…SCARE ME….Monday the 13th!!!….IN OCTOBER…..OOOOOH….The David Tonkin traveling road show at the usual haunt…..NOW THAT”S SCARY….don’t be frightened little listener…we’ll treat your ears with care…we’ll even leave them attached to your head…..
Sunday October 19th – The Jared Steer Extravaganza at the Barley Pub – Jared is a killin young drummer who specializes in making everyone sound good. Think he’ll work a little bit? You should work on a cold one at the Barley Pub with us working up a fervor on the band stand. Effenberger on keys and Brendan Dowd on Bass. This will be a fun night!
Sunday, October 26th – COLOR at the Barley Pub. Fresh off our wildly sucessful Silent Movie night to benefit the Portsmouth Halloween parade, Color makes a stop at the Barley Pub. Don’t miss it! Is it me or am I at the Barley Pub alot in October? Don’t let that deter you from attending EVERY SHOW. The bands are all different and the musicians all deserve a fair shake even if they do allow me in the band! Hope to see you soon and don’t forget to come up and say hello when make it out to see some of this great music.
